Description: At an airfield near Kuala Lumpur three Indian officers, two of them Sikhs, standing amongst piles of Japanese equipment and examining some Japanese swords. Wide shot showing a large body of Japanese troops on parade. Sikh officer examining a pair of Japanese binoculars with perhaps sixty more pairs in leather cases behind him. Wide shot with troops in background and surrendered arms (machine guns?) in the midground. A Japanese officer, wearing a white armband, approaches the senior British officer, Brigadier Bernard Gerty, and salutes (shot a bit wobbly). Looking towards Gerty with the Japanese officer and his interpreter in the foreground below him (back to camera). Gerty speaks to the Japanese officer. Wide shot; Japanese officers are made to run. The first Japanese officer unfastens his sword and lays it on the ground, followed by scores of his subordinates. All around stand Indian soldiers with rifles at the ready. Looking down at the growing mass of surrendered swords on the ground. Japanese troops are searched by Indian troops of 25th Indian Division.
