Summary: Hungarian film on the state visits of Emperor Karl to Bulgaria and Turkey, early 1917.
Description: Crown Prince Boris and Archduke Cyril wait to meet Karl's train at Sofia station. Karl and Empress Zita arrive. In the centre of Sofia Karl meets King Ferdinand, and they drive by coach through the crowds and parades to the palace, where Karl is introduced to a number of military commanders. Karl watches from his balcony as the parade goes by. Zita tours a hospital in Sofia, talking to convalescent patients. Karl meanwhile talks with leading military and civilian figures in Sofia. He is taken by King Ferdinand and Crown Prince Boris to a parade ground where he meets more soldiers, and watches another marchpast before leaving. In Constantinople Sultan Mohammed V waits for Karl and Zita's train to arrive. When it does there is, again, a formal meeting, and Karl and the Sultan get into one carriage along with Enver Pasha, the War Minister. The procession of coaches drives through the streets with a full parade escort, and arrives at the Merassim Kiosk (the summer palace). Later, Karl reviews a contingent of Austro-Hungarian troops just outside Constantinople, and then Karl and Zita walk through the parade square. They survey the Bosphoros, and get into the state barge. The film ends abruptly.
