Summary: Supported by tanks and artillery, 152nd Brigade makes a successful crossing of the Dommel outside Boxtel.
Description: A Sherman from the East Riding Yeomanry's 'C' squadron turns its co-axial Browning machine-gun on German positions on the far side of the river. A section from the 2nd Battalion Seaforth Highlanders' 'C' company hauls a storm boat to the river dyke. The section commander gives final instructions to his men before they lower their craft over the dyke and paddle across the 40-yard wide river; as they scramble ashore, reinforcements board another storm boat in the foreground. A Bren gunner from the Seaforth's 'A' company provides covering fire while a smoke-screen spread across the canal in the background; the Sherman's co-axial machine-gun remains in action with its commander observing this fall of shot from his turret hatch. Farm buildings set alight by supporting artillery are seen burning in fields beyond the Dommel. A storm boat is paddled across the river to collect a casualty, seen being helped aboard by his comrades and being retrieved by RAMC orderlies on the near side. A rifleman takes aim at one of the burning buildings before crawling down the dyke.
