Summary: Disjointed film mainly on Austro-Hungarian and Italian prisoners of war returning to their own countries during the Armistice, probably late 1918 or early 1919.
Description: Italian soldiers and refugees walk down a road, returning home with their belongings, across the Italian-Austrian border. Austro-Hungarian troops camp in hill country, with horse transport passing. The view from one of the wagons is shown as it passes through an Italian village. At Udine (?) castle Italians guard Austro-Hungarian prisoners. At another camp Italian prisoners begin their walk back home. More returning Italians are joined by refugees. Italian Alpini at a camp in the snow. More of the castle, and of the wagons moving through the village streets. Austro-Hungarian soldiers march along a road; others move up towards a mountain. A 305mm howitzer (?) lies beside a road as more Austro-Hungarians march past. Wrecked Italian guns stand at the side of a road. More Austro-Hungarians march into the mountains. More Italian prisoners of war return. A wounded Italian has his leg bandaged beside a road.
