- Description: I. 'WATCH ROUMANIA. King Ferdinand holds a great review demonstrating that the Roumanian Armies are intact. With King Ferdinand of Rumania are General Berthelot and M. Thomas, French Minister of Munitions.' MS of the King and his French guests as troops march past in open country. MS of the Rumanian infantry, followed by (?) 105mm howitzers. II. 'THE BASEBALL BOOM. Canadian teams are making this game which is full of quick action and thrills, very popular. In particular it appeals to wounded soldiers.' MSs of baseball game in play in a stadium before a substantial crowd. III. 'STOCKHOLM or STOP HOME ? Famous Labour Leaders at the Conferance (sic) which resulted in Mr. Henderson's resignation. Mr. Gosling, Mr. Ramsay MacDonald and Mr. Hodge are shown.' MSs outside the Wesleyan Central Hall as Conference delegates mill about, including the named parties. 'LABOUR'S EX-CABINET MINISTER. Mr. Henderson talking to Robertson, Vice-President, Scottish Trades Unions.' MS of the two men in conversation outside the Hall. IV. 'SOUTH AFRICAN LABOUR BATTALION "SOMEWHERE IN FRANCE". Tree Felling and Cutting Trunks for constructional work.' MCU as black workers use a lumberjack's saw to cut through a tree while another drives wedges in to open the cut. The tree falls. LS over men cutting up wood while in the background another detachment marches off, some with saws held over their shoulders. A horse enters frame right dragging small cars along a light railway line - the cars carry more workers. THE DAY'S WORK DONE. Marching Home: Native Chief's "Dance of Hate" against the Boche, known at the Base as the "Whiz-bang Whirl." Detachments of blacks march along wooded path led by two white soldiers - one of them very fat. MS as African soldiers relax, sitting or lying on the ground. One man dances on the spot - he has tin cans tied around his knees, presumably acting as rattles, but is otherwise dressed in ordinary uniform - his companions do not seem much moved by his performance.
