Summary: Disjointed film of Austro-Hungarian forces in the Tyrol near the Italian Front, autumn 1915.
Description: Austrian troops practise an attack in waves up a hillside, with some men acting as 'casualties' for the stretcher-bearers. A general view of the ground, below the snow-line, on the Italian Front. A mobile bath unit at a camp in the Tyrol, with a man having a bath. Two destroyed bridges. Senior officers, including the Archduke (future Emperor) Karl watch the exercise. 77mm field guns fire as the practice attack continues. One of the gunners sets the fuse on a shell. An observer standing astride a trench calls instructions to another with a field telephone. The Archduke Karl talks with local volunteer foot soldiers drawn up on parade, and with some hussars, as he and his staff wander over the area. At a camp an alarm is given and soldiers prepare for an alert. Men pray in a field chapel and dance to a flute. Archduke Friedrich (?) reviews some troops in the rear areas. A massed parade by a division (considerable camera-shake). Karl and his wife Zita leave Innsbruck by car. Troops are served food at their camp by a field kitchen, and do general repair work. Food is also taken into the officers' mess hut.
