Description:(Reel 1) General views of activities at NATO headquarters: aerial shot; opening ceremony with speeches by Paul Vanden Boeynants and Manlio Brosio and flag-raising; further aerial shots of the complex, with detailed views of the main entrance area and the road; sign "Zaventum - NATO"; vehicles entering and being checked by gendarme; show of passes on entry to the building; office doors of the NATO Information Service and of the various national delegations; NATO ambassadors' meeting in Council Room 1 and delegates leaving afterwards.
(Reel 2) Aspects of working life inside NATO headquarters: the giant kitchens, refectory/commissary (the chefs themselves are seen eating); typing section with dictaphones using giant discs; document service, with duplication of collation of documents; lobby with bank, bookshop, hairdressers and travel agency.
