Description: Lord Cullen walks with the US Consul General across the lawn of the official British residence in Cairo, once occupied by Lord Kitchener. British troops relax in their camp near Cairo outside a YMCA hut. With the others gathered round, two of the men give a demonstration wrestling match. In similar vein Privates Williams and Arthur "of the 5th battery" have a boxing match. A tattooist puts a tattoo on the arm of one of the soldiers. A football match "between the 4th and 5th battery" on the baked-earth drill ground. Soldiers peel potatoes and carrots beside their tents and prepare stew for a meal. British troops pass through Cairo in an official parade, watched by the local civilians. One yeomanry regiment is pointed out as having an unusual number of white Arab horses.
