Summary: A parade of United States soldiers through the centre of London, 15th August 1917.
Description: The contingent forms up at Wellington Barracks before marching out, led by a band from the Coldstream Guards, on duty at the barracks. The parade passes the US Embassy, where Ambassador Dr Walter H Page and Admiral William S Sims take the salute from the balcony. The parade then passes outside Buckingham Palace. King George V stands at the gates to take the salute. With him is Queen Alexandra the Queen Mother, Field Marshal Lord French, Colonel Lassiter (the US military attaché) and Lieutenant-General Sir Francis Lloyd, in charge of London district. Also watching are Prime Minister Lloyd George and US Major-General John Biddle. The troops dip their flags in salute as they pass the King.
