Summary:Assault boats from US Marines task force simulate marine landing on Turkish beach, coming ashore and charging across the dunes to take up offensive positions. Observing VIPs come ashore - Admiral Carney, Admiral Lemonnier, Admiral Wright (CINCNELM), Ambassador Draper and Van Strastarebourgh of the Netherlands. Tanks, bulldozer and crane deployed; heavy equipment unloaded as jets fly over. Turkish First Lieutenant L M Sakalis carries out inspection. Brigadier General Hogaboom (US Marine Commander) and Major K Prassas (CO, 'A' Raider Group) with observers: Brigadier General A H Butler (US) and Colonel G F Cangini (Italian). After the exercise, men return to boats in DUKWs.
