Summary:Various scenes, including assembly of tanks and two-and-a-half ton trucks at the Detroit Arsenal.
Description:Views of the assembly line show some of the stages in the construction of trucks. The frames are painted, and an engine installed. Wheels are fixed on to the truck, and cabins lowered in to position. Flatbeds are installed behind. The complete trucks are then driven from the assembly line. Welders work on the chassis of tanks. A chassis is then painted. A tank has its wheels installed and its engine lowered in to position. A turret is manoeuvered across the plant and installed. Elevated views show the plant and tanks in various stages of production. The installation of a tank's track is then shown. Cars are shown leaving the arsenal, and the sign for the DETROIT ARSENAL, ORDNANCE CORP, UNITED STATES ARMY appears. The reel concludes with several shots of tanks being driven in testing, across varied terrain and on wet roading.
