Summary:After close-up of the book itself, General Ridgway is shown before French and Korean flags; he shakes hands with officers, including a woman officer, Lieutenant Andrée Montboisses. He and General Charles Montclar give speeches (through interpreter) before Ridgway signs the Golden Book of the UN French Battalion in Korea (other French officers present include General Robert des Essars and Lieutenant Colonel François Borreilli). At the opening ceremony of the Allied Mediterranean Command Headquarters, Malta 1953, Captain Robert Everard (in charge of arrangements) comes onto the roof of the headquarters just before Lord Mountbatten, who salutes Allied chiefs of staff. Officers and Marines salute as the flags of the six countries involved (France, US, GB, Italy, Greece, Turkey) are raised and national anthems are played. Officers leave and go to the "Commander-in-Chiefs' Staff Wardroom Mess". Marine guards are in attendance.
