Summary:Scenes at Orly Field Airport, Paris: reporters (fresh from briefing by Sir Basil Embry on Operation Carte Blanche) board Canadian C47. On board, a USAF Sergeant and reporter John Field are among those asleep in the cabin. German reporter Mr Seeliger sets his Leica camera. At Nancy, the reporters transfer to a C119 aircraft where they are briefed on Exercise Carte Blanche by RCAF Squadron Leader. French military transport aircraft stops on tarmac; Marshal Juin, Sir Basil Embry, General Lee, General Nurtin, General Gelèe and General Bisson assemble beside it. Marshal Juin salutes French honour guard as he goes to his car. Later, Marshal Juin and party inspect Cat Au Catac (French Air Force camp) at Nancy, where Sir Basil Embry and others board a transport aircraft. Joint Headquarters Northern Army Group, 2nd Allied Tactical Air Force: Allied officers (including General Weyland) enter the 2nd ATAF building. Group of officers pose outside the building: Air Marshal Sir Harry Broadhurst (GB), Air Vice Marshal Morris (GB), General Weyland (Commander-in-Chief Tact. Air. US), Lord De L'Isle and Dudley (British Secretary of State for Air) and General de Boutte (Belgium). They speak informally with press men and then enter the HQ. Groundcrew services French F86G at Juvrincourt; pilots of 2/33 Squadron, French Air Force, resting. Scramble sequence: pilots climb into their F84 jets which taxi into position and take off in numbers. At base in Germany, F84 jet is refuelled by Norwegian groundcrew and has a wing-tip camera installed; a Norwegian pilot then climbs into the F84 and it takes off.
