Camp Voluceau, December 1957. Crowd of people (including what the shotcard describes as a "very oddly dressed person" - thought to refer to someone dressed as a jester or clown) gather as helicopter containing Santa Claus flies in. Children and parents line up, guided by a court jester, and receive gifts. The recipients include Mrs Norstad and children, Mary Englis (of London, England), Michael McGuire (of Suffolk, England), Allan Watson (of Mulgrove, Ontario, Canada), Johnny Maragus (of Salt Lake City, Utah), Bobby and Diane Streek (the children of Major and Mrs Streek of Lewisbury, West Virginia), Carol and John Roberts (of Ruislip, England) and Johnny Gallagher (England). Air Marshal Constantine and his wife watch the party.
Mrs Norstad is greeted as her car arrives at Percy French Military Hospital. Inside, she distributes gifts to several French soldiers in bed; they thank her and shake her hand. Mrs Gazounaud, wife of Major General Gazounaud (the French NMR at SHAPE) also hands out gifts to patients, taking them from a gift cart. Female patients receive gifts. The gift cart is pushed into a ward and more gifts are distributed.
