Summary:Colonel Calvert arrives at the parade ground, Camp Voluceau, for his farewell ceremony; he walks to the reviewing stand accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel McClary. Amongst those on the stand are Warrant Officer Thomson (Chief of CI), Captain Marcel Richard (CO of SHAPE), Captain Williams (Deputy Commander 520th Military Police Company) and Captain Fowler. The SHAPE Company of Gendarmes, the 520th Military Police Company and the SHAPE Provost Company (RMP) stand to attention. Colonel Calvert, Lieutenant Colonel McClary and Major A G Hicks (RMP Company Commander) inspect the Gendarmes and MPs. Back at the reviewing stand, Colonel Calvert reads his farewell address before reviewing the various companies of Gendarmes and MPs as they march past, prior to assembling for photographs before the Camp Voluceau Theatre. Colonel Calvert shakes Major Hicks' hand before paying his respects to the officers' wives. Colonel and Mrs Calvert leave, their Chevrolet car being ceremonially pushed by MPs.
Upon visiting SHAPE headquarters, the German Minister of Defence is greeted by Generals Norstad, Johnson, Foertsch and Sir Richard Gale.
The delegation from the Defence Orientation Conference Association is greeted at SHAPE headquarters by General Moore (seen talking to Delegate J A Rollman), Colonel Ryder and Brigadier Cardiff. Delegates pose for photographs. At the end of their visit, Colonel Ryder bids them farewell.
Upon arrival to SHAPE headquarters, General Maurice Challe is greeted by Major General Mesnet, Admiral Longanesi-Cattani and General Sir Richard Gale (latter not seen).
