Summary: The take-off, trial flight and landing of the Royal Navy airship NS5 ('North Sea' class) at Kingsnorth Royal Navy Airship Station, 4th December 1917.
Description: The airship is reversed out of its shed. It carries British RNAS roundels and the gondola is clearly marked NS5. It is manoeuvred into position on the landing ground and takes off. A message is dropped from the airship by parachute to the landing ground. The airship overflies the station at various altitudes providing the camera with views from all angles. The NS5 then comes in to land, its ropes are seized by the landing party and it is led back to its hangar.
