Pearsons (Lieutenant colonel, US Army, 7th Signals Battalion), to continue on the leg to the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile. Lieutenant Lynch changes en route onto a motorcycle, driven by Signalman Geoff Collins (Royal Signals). Lynch runs the final section, before having his time stamped by race officials. A list of times is shown, with Lynch's appearing as the fastest.
Attention switches to Lieutenant Jack Westlake (Royal Signals), who sets off on the return leg to Marble Arch, London on the back of a motorbike driven by Sergeant Borrows (Royal Signals). At the heliport in Paris, Westlake takes to a Bristol Sycamore (provided by the Joint Helicopter Unit, Middlehope) for the journey back to Villacoublay. At Villacoublay other airmen [including Lynch and Westlake] are seen climbing into jets for departure.
