He briefly covers NATO developments in terms of military forces and political organisation and recent challenges, such as the invasion of Czechoslovakia by the Soviet Union, which opens a time of uncertainty. He acknowledges that the mission by which NATO was created is not concluded and praises the Hellenic culture created 2,000 years ago as the origin of the modern political ideas NATO embraces.
