II. French language version of a newsreel item on General Sir Arthur Currie showing Canadian journalists over the old Vimy Ridge battlefield, July 1918.
III. French language version of a newsreel item on British soldiers in a recently captured French village, probably Somme area, Western Front, August 1918.
Description: Princess Patricia is presented with a bouquet by a small girl. With the princess is the Duke of Connaught, a clergyman, and various officials. She 'christens' the aircraft, a Sopwith Camel which has the name "The Osterley M.T.T.D. No. 1" written below the cockpit. The pilot gets in and the plane takes off.
Currie, the Canadian Corps commander, leads the journalists, all wearing shrapnel helmets and carrying gasmasks, up to the ridge, where they sit while he tells them about the battle.
The village shows some shell damage. The troops wander through in twos and threes looking for items of interest. Two men look at a dead cat. A dead horse is in the road.
