Summary: I. "The other man's job. New boots from old." Scenes at a shoe-factory where worn-out boots used by members of the British and Allied services are renovated, for "use in the final campaign." Film provides detailed account of the ripping off of old heels and soles, washing and sterilisation of uppers and re-stitching to form virtually new boots.
II. "Workers man improved night defences." a. First pictures of Rocket guns "now revealed as having played an important rôle in repelling the Nazi invader." Guns are fired. b. Description of a Home Guard Z Battery. After a day's work Home Guard members don uniforms and report for duty and parade at their local barracks. There they eat and sleep like the regular army until they are roused by an alert from London anti-aircraft control and immediately man the guns and searchlights, firing rockets and anti-aircraft shells. Commentary warns that "Nazis still hope to destroy London and other cities."
