Summary: film of heavy traffic on the move during the first day of Operation Epsom.
Description: Sherman tanks belonging to the 44th Royal Tank Regiment move up to their start-line for operation Epsom via the crossroads at Camilly, where a 6th Field Regiment Royal Artillery Bedford 15cwt truck gives them priority, and through the ravaged village of Bretteville l'Orgueilleuse, where an ex-12th SS Panzer Division Panther Ausf G tank lies derelict at the side of the Caen-Bayeux highway. Between Bretteville and Norrey-en-Bessin, a Churchill AVRE fascine carrier belonging to the 81st Assault Squadron Royal Engineers and a Churchill ARV plough their way along a churned-up mine-free track, followed by two Humber Light ambulances from the 193rd Field Ambulance Royal Army Medical Corps. A 1st Middlesex Regiment signals carrier passes in the opposite direction. Two Sherman flail tanks from the 22nd Dragoons' 'B' Squadron and an 8th Corps troops M5 halftrack pass troops and Pioneers at work clearing the mud.
