I. Sherman tanks (144th RAC's 'A', 'HQ', 'C' Squadron) move up from Basly and cross the Caen - Luc-sur-Mer railway outside Cazelle. II. Outside La Bijude on the Caen - Douvres-la-Délivrande road, infantrymen from the 6th Battalion North Staffordshire Regiments universal carrier platoon take up positions facing east while Shermans from 13/18th Hussars 'B' squadron motor into the village. Supported by the tanks, the 7th Battalion South Staffordshire Regiment attacks a strongpoint at Malon and comes under mortar fire. III. A 33rd Armoured Brigade tank regiment (1st North Yorkshire or 144th RAC) leaves its harbour outside Basly. IV. At a 3rd Division roadblock on the Caen Douvres-la-Délivrande road at Cazelle, signs warn of the proximity of the Germans and point the way to an 8th Field Ambulance RAMC ADS; nearby, Luftwaffe POWs await despatch to the rear. V. A 4th AGRA (Army Group Royal Artillery) 5.5 inch gun goes into action at dawn. VI. 176th Brigade's assault on Malon continues. A rifleman dashes out of La Bijude. The cameraman examines dead 'Hitlerjugend' grenadiers. Shermans (13/18th Hussars 'C' squadron) return from Epron (?). A sapper (257th Field Company RE) plants a mine warning sign ("Verges Not Clear"). A Sherman Crab (22nd Dragoons 'C' Squadron) motors towards La Bijude.
