Summary: A short cinema trailer using the dramatic device of an informal interview with a civilian munitions worker to promote the purchase of Second World War National Savings.
Description: The film opens with a "V" for victory sign. An old man, filling his pipe, walks past a war savings poster on a wall (in a studio). He is interviewed before the camera and is asked why he saves. As a munitions worker in both of the world wars, he states that he will not make the same mistakes as before. In the First World War he earned good money and spent it all - when he needed it, he did not have it. "I am certain I am on a winner this time, National Savings, helping my country and myself at the same time". The film ends with a close-up of the poster "HIT BACK WITH YOUR WAR SAVINGS" and a shot of a Union Jack Flag with the emblem of National Savings.
