Summary: Second World War "Careless Talk" film made to be shown to RAF personnel.
Description: Short RAF film using the idea that all RAF personnel are important cogs in the machinery of the RAF war effort and warning of the dangers of "Careless Talk". The film opens with a domestic scene of a small boy playing with his electric train-set with his Father reading a newspaper nearby. The child asks his Father "what makes the wheels go round" which introduces the theme of the importance of cogs (stock shots of various cogs and gears - spur gears, bevel gears, helical gears, and worm gears). The commentary then compares the importance of machine gears with the role each member of the RAF "every member of the RAF, however unimportant his job may seem at times, is a very important and vital part of the whole" (brief stock shots of RAF personnel). The film then warns that one "cog" could upset the whole by giving important information to Hitler, "don't let your Pals down by giving away vital secrets - not even to your best friend!.....CARELESS TALK COSTS LIVES".
