Summary: “Subversion” - Story about Sgt Bob Richie, Clerk Admin Supervisor, Classified Central Registry reduced to LAC and sentenced to 12 months detention. His offence, giving away classified information. The threat from persuasion (propaganda - rumours), Coercion (blackmail – force) or Reward (money – favours) explained by RCAF officer. The subtle indoctrination of the serviceman by the family of a young woman, Peg Watson, he is dating to the ideology of communism. Eventually Richie is turned to spy for Mr Watson after he stated he was leaving the RCAF to become a doctor. The role of coercion and reward come into play when Richie tries to stop his activity. Richie then reports his actions and is court-martialled.
