Description: I. On the main gate of HMS Collingwood, the old sentry is replaced by the new sentry who receives his instructions. At a main gate an officer in a jeep is halted and checked, then passed, by a sentry. A single sentry in a box is passed by a crowd of civilians outside a main gate at HMS Excellent. A family group takes his picture. A blind man follows.
II. Oil storage tanks are silhouetted at night. Guards in pairs walk amongst them.
III. From the rail of a Dido Class destroyer, a sentry looks at the water. On the gang-plank a sentry stands to attention as the Captain boards.
IV. Further footage of the two sentries and the oil tanks. The sentry stands to attention as the Captain boards his motor torpedo boat. The First Lieutenant greets the Captain.
V. On the bridge of HMS Dido a sentry with binoculars looks at her guns.
VI. A sentry lets through a party of marching ratings at the main gate of HMS Collingwood.
VII. HMS Excellent: the sentry salutes an officer (HMS Victory in frame).
