Description: The coffin leaves Liverpool Cathedral and is taken through the city on a gun carriage. Admiral Sir Max Horton, C-in-C Western Approaches, leads the wreath party. The body goes onboard HMS Hesperus at Princes Landing Stage. CU of Captain Walker's wife and daughter. The coffin is committed to the sea - it does not sink immediately and one of the burial party cranes his head to watch it bob down the side of the ship. Mrs Walker throws a cross of flowers onto the waters, and her daughter offers a wreath. A rifle party fires a salute. CU of Captain Walker's battle ensign flying from ensign staff.
