Summary: Unedited scenes showing divers from the minesweeper HMS Shoulton laying an explosive charge to detonate a mine.
Description: I. HMS Shoulton (M.1182) hoists out a Gemini dinghy while underway at sea. Three divers man the dinghy and make off. The Gemini then returns, a line is thrown down to it, and the dinghy secures to lower boom. Ship's derrick lowers a demolition charge over the side and the weapon is secured beneath the dinghy. Gemini slips from lower boom and makes off.
II. Sequence onboard the inflatable. CU of Coxswain. A diver goes over the side to check the placement of the charge. The firing mechanism is connected up and the time delay set. Wire, pennant and control mechanism are let go from release slip on bridge rigged on the dinghy - this operation fails on the first attempt as the control fouls the slip. The weapon is released, and the Coxswain throws the firing mechanism overboard. Dinghy makes off and returns to HMS Shoulton.
