Description: The royal party - HM King George VI, the Queen and Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret - leave their train to be greeted by Rear-Admiral Sir Richard Hall. Cut to men fallen in on the quarterdeck of HMS King George V as the King inspects in the company of Captain Halsey, while the Queen follows talking to Commander Long. HM inspects divisions, preceded by a grim-looking master-at-arms. Royal party negotiates cables on the focsle. HM chats with Lieutenant Fowler and Stoker Petty Officer Hugill, both of whom have been with the ship since its launching. CUs of the Princesses. HM inspects Royal Marine detachment - HMS Malaya in the background - and the Queen talks to RM bandsman. The royal party watch the storing of the ship. Crewmen carry crates of beer below. Canister containing a cordite charge is lowered into the magazine. Fourteen-inch shells on trolleys on the quarterdeck. Princesses climb up a ladder onto the top of a turret, and descend again, assisted by Commander Long. Ammunition boxes are stacked on deck. As the party leave in RML 543 they are cheered by the crew.
