Summary: I. French language version of a newsreel item on Eamon de Valera and Countess Markievicz, filmed during the East Clare by-election of May 1917, issued at the time of their arrest on 17th May 1918.
II. French language version of a newsreel item on meat supplies to the British forces on the Western Front, May 1918.
Description: A band leads a crowd of people through the streets of the town. De Valera and Countess Markievicz address the crowd, two of whom are waving Sinn Fein tricolours.
Soldiers unload whole carcasses of meat from lorries of V Corps (note the formation sign). The men cut up the meat with axes.
