Description: I. King George VI, in the uniform of Admiral of the Fleet, is piped on board USS Washington where he is greeted by Rear Admiral Giffen and Captain Benson. Inspection of party of ratings with CUs of sailors. LA.MS of main mast flying US and White Ensigns. HM departs as his launch makes away, Colony and Southampton Class cruisers ore visible moored in background.
II. Royal Marines detachment presents arms on deck of British warship (?HMS Malaya) - naval party pipes the side - gun layer 1st Class and Sub-Lieutenant in foreground.
III. HM inspects naval barracks - the weather is bad and he wears a raincoat. Inside the barracks he visits the mess hall, where he inspects a party of naval ratings, the billiards room and the library.
IV. King George returns to quay and boards a waiting launch - two Boom Defence Vessel trawlers are secured alongside in background. LS silhouette of HMS King George V. Cut to HM emerging onto quarter-deck of HMS Tyne - he is accompanied by Admiral Tovey and Rear Admiral Burnett. The King then returns to his launch.
V. HM takes salute on parade ground and inspects naval garrison and civilian workers.
