Description: I. HMS Grampus and HMS Exmouth at sea. Exmouth signals. Various shots of the submarine closing on the frigate, which is hove to in a calm sea. Final shot shows Exmouth working up to full speed, and throwing up a fine wake.
II. Inboard sequence on Grampus as signalman uses Aldis lamp to signal to distant frigate.
III. Aerial LS of Exmouth leading Grampus as they steam left to right in a calm sea. Coast in XLS background. They are steaming very slowly, the camera closing during the sequence.
IV. Inboard on Exmouth, camera shooting aft past a lookout, to Grampus, which holds a parallel course on the port quarter. The submarine signals. Lookout is joined by the Captain, Lieutenant-Commander M R Wilson - they converse and both look through binoculars - Bofors crew wearing anti-flash in the background.
