Summary: Unedited scenes featuring minesweepers.
Description: I. Aerial LS of coastal minesweepers in line ahead with sweeps veered - the camera aircraft passes from port to starboard side of the line. The sequence is many times repeated, the ships closing up and then shifting into a more open formation. Aerial shots of a single Ton Class minesweeper with sweep veered, the track of the sweep showing up clearly in a calm sea. Similar shot of a Ham Class vessel - coast in the background.
II. MS from off the port quarter, framing the stern of HMS Ashton (M.1198) as a kite is recovered. Inboard shots of the same, as a crewman unships the moving block attaching the kite to the sweep wire, and the supervising Lieutenant gives the winchman the signal to heave in the wire. The cutter is heaved in and unshipped. Crewman uses a hammer to knock marker off the sweep wire - it falls away in sections which he recovers.
