Description: I. LCT(5) disembarks Loyd carriers to wade ashore in rough sea. Several vehicles stall and men swim out to them with tow lines. DUKW and Scammell Heavy Breakdown tractor (wearing overall chains) act as recovery vehicles.
II. LCT(4) 596 disembarks Daimler Scout Car Mk II into deep water - recovery tractor standing by in foreground. Further Daimler Scouts of Divisional HQ section follow. Cut to beach, and pan over line of parked vehicles - REME Major looks at motor beneath raised hood - he is accompanied by an attractive ATS girl, smoking a cigarette. Cut to MS of starboard bow of LCT(4) 596 as craft disembarks Daimler Scout followed by an Austin K3 and three Bedford OYDs - the K3 and two of the Bedfords stall in the deep water. MLS of stalled Scout - one of the crew waves to the camera as the sea breaks over the stranded vehicle. LCT(5) 2438 disembarks Daimler Scouts - one stalls and is towed out. MS as crew take a line from Scammell breakdown to stranded vehicle. Final HA.MS pan along line of parked Scouts as their crews check the vehicles after the wade.
