Title:THE 5TH RAILWAY CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE GROUP RE REPLACE A DEMOLISHED BRIDGE OVER THE ORNE AT CAEN (PART 3) [Allocated Title]
Film Number:A70 105-8
Summary: Continued coverage of 926 Bridge Company RE's work on dismantling the rocker of the old railway bridge carrying the Caen-Cherbourg railway line over the Orne at Caen.
Description: Using oxy-acetylene torches, engineers cut away sections of the rocker's cross members. With the momentary slackening of its holding lines, the rocker slides off the central pier and drops into the river, much to the surprise of everyone in the immediate vicinity.
