Description: I. Various shots of DUKWs of 377 GT Company RASC plying back and forth off Arromanches, unloading cargo from a large converted collier (cf ADM 1994). Low tide.
II. MS off the starboard quarter of HMS Fury lying aground below cliffs - the camera craft passes along the starboard side. Salvage crew are on deck.
III. Stores pierhead. MS of pierhead and intermediate pontoon with cargo ships alongside. Barrage balloon overhead. MCU of second pierhead with US Army tug and tug T10.34 alongside - camera tracks right past telescopic roadway span to second pierhead with MY accommodation ship alongside. Track to third Spud - ML, MFV, and tug Servitor are alongside. CU as Fordson and Bedford OYC lorries leave the pierhead with POL cargo, passing the camera positioned on the Whale roadway. MS and LS views of the pierhead line, and LA.MS of Spud leg and control cabin.
IV. DUKW shore base. DUKW of 377 GT Company RASC unloads M48 75mm ammunition. Coles 3-ton crane swings cargo net onto unloading platform, and ammunition cases are passed on a roller-conveyor to a waiting lorry. Mack MR9 10-ton 6x4 truck passes the camera with a cargo of jerry cans. Various views as DUKWs and amphibious jeep move up and down the beach.
V. Bulk Fuel Installation, Port-en-Bessin. MS off the port beam of MFV 118 outside the harbour - taken from No 1 Discharge Point on the western harbour wall. CUs of valves and pipelines of discharge point - cable ship Goldbell lies alongside. CUs of No 2 Discharge Point on the eastern harbour wall, and fuel pipelines. Ruston-Bucyrus mobile crane unloads cargo from SS Gladonia - six inch pipeline is transferred to a 10-ton Mack Docks truck. Final MS pan over camouflaged fuel storage tanks - an up-turned cart is visible in the foreground.
