III. 'SHEEP HERD MOVE TO NEW PASTURES IN US FAR WEST.' Large numbers of sheep are moved from Summer to Winter pastures in Washington State (United States of America). Hundreds of sheep are herded across the Columbia River using the walkway of the Grand Coulee Dam as a bridge. The herding operation is watched by dam security guards armed with pump-action shotguns.
IV. 'US FORCES ATTACK JAPANESE BASE ON BOUGAINVILLE.' Panoramic footage shows the Allied naval task force as it moves into Empress Augusta Bay prior to landing the United States First Marine Corps in the Cape Torokina area of Bougainville. General Alexander A Vandegrift USMC (United States Marine Corps) consults with Rear-Admiral Wilkinson USN (United States Navy) on board ship. A USMC LVT-2 (Landing Vehicle Tracked) Water Buffalo amphibious load carrier is lowered into the sea by shipboard hoist. Japanese aircraft bomb and strafe incoming USN landing craft (Japanese aircraft at distance). Japanese aircraft cannon plumes explode in the sea around USN landing craft. Men of the US 1st Marine Corps (3rd Marine Division) land under enemy fire in the Cape Torokina area (November 1 1943). USMC troops run up a beach carrying Garand M1 .30-inch self loading rifles and M1 .30-inch carbines. USMC personnel walk past a stationary LVT-2 Water Buffalo christened "Our Gal Sal" by its crew. Japanese infantry lie dead in a slit trench.
