Summary: Nore Army Fort, one of the Maunsell Sea Forts in the Thames Estuary near Sheerness, is demolished.
Description: Scenes on board salvage vessel: various items of equipment, including explosive charges, are prepared (this sequence is printed twice, and has shaky camerawork). The vessel comes alongside the sea fort, which had previously been damaged in a shipwreck (see notes); equipment is craned aboard. Views of the base of the towers, each with their four legs. Scrap metal is craned onto the salvage vessel. Views from on board one of the towers, which is badly damaged; only the supports remain of the neighbouring towers. A small vessel comes alongside. Floats are lifted on board one of the platforms. Long shot shows one of the towers being dynamited: salvage crew poses for camera. A diver (with brass helmet) goes into the water for an inspection. Salvage crews continue dismantling the towers; chunks of the structure are lowered onto the salvage ship. At the end of the reel, another of the towers is dynamited.
