Summary: Trial launching of the Goatley boat, and test of its cargo carrying capacity.
Description: I. MS as Goatley boat slides down a roller ramp over pebble ridge onto beach - caption notes that the craft is being lowered by a D-8 tractor. Alligator (LVT 1) then tows the boat across the sand into the sea. The empty boat surmounts incoming waves, while the heavier LVT wallows, and as a result the boat over-rides its tow. Caption notes that the LVT ships water and develops engine trouble, both craft becoming unmanageable.
II. Austin 10HP light utility offloaded from LCT 340 into the Goatley boat, which makes off. The boat then returns, and the Austin drives back up the vehicle ramp onto the LCT. MS from the beach as the vehicle is driven into the Goatley, which transfers it to shore.
III. Austin light utility reverses along quay to be lifted on a cargo sling into the hold of MV Cornel alongside. Cut to Austin being lifted from the hold of Cornel, and lowered onto the back of a 3 ton Karrier K6, which stands in 3 ft of water alongside the beached MV - the truck pulls away.
