LSI(L)s approach the shore - Tegelberg, Reina Del Pacifico, Strathaird/Strathnaver, etc. Escort vessels include C Class AA cruiser (?HMS Cairo). Hurricanes and Baltimores circle overhead. A hospital ship is present. Scenes shot onboard LSI (L) Karanja or Keren show LCAs being loaded with equipment, including a mortar hand cart. Troops embarking, one dressed in khaki drill - one corporal carries a Thompson 1928 A1 sub-machine gun. LCAs are lowered away and make for the beaches - troops fix bayonets and storm ashore behind officer armed with revolver. Beach master directs operation through a PA system. Bren gunner takes up position. Troops entrench themselves. Field telephone and radio man operate from foxhole. Cut to offshore operations - LCTs take on cargo - 4x4 Humber four wheel drive ambulance, 3-ton 4x2 lorry, etc. - troops wearing topées, go down side of troopship into LCAs. On the beach LCM (3)s disembark. Guy Quad-Ant with 25-pounder and limber and Marmon-Herrington armoured car. LCTs unload jeeps and Ford 30cwt 4x2s (01Ts). Troops begin to lay down a beach road of wire netting, which is later seen bearing a Diamond 'T' M20 Prime Mover. In the anchorage, shipping is protected by extensive smoke screens. Final LS of LCAs heading inshore as sun sets behind mountainous coastline. End caption reminds viewers that the operation they have seen will be carried out at night.
