Description: I. Crew of cameraship attach tow to barge BK.676. Team of tugs, including Bat, Lynch, and US Army steel diesel types, proceed along the coast at first light with barges in tow. MLS as cameraship passes to port of an anchored liberty ship.
II. Daylight conditions. Various shots of the flotilla underway. Scenes onboard: LA.MS of Red Ensign; MCU of wire towline running out over the stern, and MS of the towing shackle under strain, twisting with the lay of the hawser; MCU of gog rope and eye screw shackle; shots of captain and helmsman, and HA.MS of two crewmen looking out over the port bow.
III. On reaching their destination, the crew start up the tow-in winch, and dripping hawser runs in around a norman to be flaked down along the portside of the quarterdeck. Barges, now close astern, are towed off by two US Army tugs. Lynch comes alongside, and crew throw a line to the cameraship. MS off the starboard bow as HMS Flaunt (W.152) tows in two barges laden with engineering equipment - mobile cranes, trucks, etc.
IV. MS of MFV J.59 under tow from cameraship. MS off the starboard bow of the Canadian Pacific liner Empress of Russia with tugs alongside. General views of anchored tugs.
