Description: Aerial sequence showing HMS Eagle at sea - Sea Vixen FAW.1 XJ 517 is parked forward. These aerial shots show to advantage the angled deck and the massive Type 965 double-mattress and Type 984 lens antennae. Cut to onboard camera. MS aft down flightdeck as two 899 Squadron Sea Vixens land on. Fairey Gannet COD.4 XG 790 of 849 Squadron D Flight lands on - a Rear-Admiral's flag is painted on the aircraft's nose and the initials FOAC (Flag Officer Aircraft Carriers) on the tail fin. The planeguard Whirlwind lands on - the synchronisation of the of the rotating blades with the camera's shutter speed produces a marked stroboscopic effect. LA to the Type 984 'dustbin' scanning. Sea Vixens 717 and 719 are launched from the waist catapult, followed by the FOAC's Gannet. HA aft as four Sea Vixens land on - 722 floats over the wires the first time and has to go round again. Vixens XJ 558 and XJ 489 are parked forward, while a third aircraft folds wings. LS aft along deck as 722 taxies forward, wings straightening, onto the waist catapult. Planeguard Whirlwind 918 flies in to land on but is waved away. 722 is launched, followed by 717. Whirlwind 918 lands on. MCU as pilot boards Vixen 717. Observer boards 719 - he throws the camera a jaunty salute as he climbs into the Vixen's cramped 'coalhole'. Aerial shot from helicopter off Eagle's starboard bow - the carrier passes off frame right. The camera-aircraft then flies down the port side to give a good view of the island, surmounted by the Type 984 radar.
