Summary: Wounded and prisoners behind the lines during a battle on the Western Front, possibly Arras 1917.
Description: The film opens with rolling fields, corn stacks at regular intervals. Soldiers line up for an open-air pay parade. Walking wounded come up a hill towards the camera, followed by some stretcher cases, other walking wounded (one visibly shaking - shell shock?), and German prisoners under escort. Water is given to the wounded. Some mounted Transport men also come up the slope towards the camera, and there is a steady trickle of men going in the other direction.
