- Description: I. MS track across bows and down the portside of SS A Eldridge, unloading a mixed cargo of barbed wire, fascines, etc, into three LBVs - LCP(L) crosses in the foreground. Cut to MS track from the port bow of SS Cragside, a small engines-aft coaster - DUKW crosses the foreground. MS track across the bows and down portside of a third freighter - a LBV is alongside to starboard. II. Various shots showing three N3 standard hulls unloading at low tide - the nearest is A Eldridge, and the middle ship is SS Waldo Hill. LCT(6) 712 is also unloading. DUKWs run up and down the beach. In Arromanches, demolition work is in progress. LA.MCU of A Eldridge unloading rolls of track into the DUKW 'Good Evening'. III. MS starboard profile of US LCT(6) 589 lying bows on to a pier constructed of linked Rhino sections - men disembark and walk down the pier towards the camera. IV. Track east to west along the inside of the blockship line from Elswick Park to Saltersgate, crossing beneath the sterns of unloading merchantmen and the blockship Alynbank - at the end of the sequence A2 caisson 65 is visible, part of the westward extension of the breakwater. US Army tugs, LBVs, LBO, LCVP, LCM(1), LCI(L), etc, in the foreground. V. W/T trailer and ancillary equipment on the cliffs above Arromanches. RN telegraphist passes report to messenger, who makes off on a bicycle. MCUs of 15-cwt Morris W/T truck (?) parked by a radio mast. VI. LS and MLS pans over the harbour from the cliffs - a good panorama.
