Title:ROYAL NAVY PR FILMS TRAILER 1989 [Allocated Title]
Film Number:ADM 6926
Other titles:
Summary: Promotion trailer for the short films made for cinema exhibition by the Public Relations Office of the Royal Navy.
Description: Extensive clips from films made between 1978 and 1987 are shown, together with a voiceover giving background information to their production in general: they were made by small professional companies and featured narrative stories played out against a naval background. They were then offered for distribution alongside feature films (eg James Bond films) in cinemas. With the decline in the market for short cinema films, these public relations films can now be used as a footage resource for filmmakers. The trailer includes clips from "Something Spectacular" (the title of which is included in the clip), "The Queen's Ships", "Nelson's Touch" (ADM 6928), "The Unexpected", "The Intruders" (ADM 6951), "Fire Fight" (ADM 6935), "Invincible", "Endurance in Antarctica" (13K 1056), "Aim True" (13K 1025), "A Drop in the Ocean" (ADM 6919), and "The Offshore Island".
