Description: Opening shots of HMS Tiger riding at anchor and underway off the Maltese coast. Onboard CUs of forward 6-inch Mk XXIII and 3-inch Mk 6 turrets. CUs of after 6-inch turret. LS of submarine HMS Porpoise (S.01). 3-inch and 6-inch ammunition is brought onboard from a lighter and laid out on deck. Stock CUs of helmsman, engine-room telegraph at half ahead, wardroom laid out ready for a meal. Study of ship's wake as she works up to speed - indicated by instruments as 34-1/2 knots. HA.MS aft to starboard Mk 6 as it trains and fires a sustained burst under radar control - a stream of cases are ejected over the side. The two 6-inch turrets also fire to starboard - ejected cases litter the deck.
