Summary: Scenes from Exercise Shop Window, 1961.
Description: I. MS sequence filmed from HMS Hermes. HM frigates Tenby, Rhyl and Puma approach in line, firing anti-submarine mortars. Type 12 frigates fire Mark 10 Limbo over their starboard beam - the explosion of the bombs is visible in the background after the ships have passed. Puma fires ATW Squid over her starboard bow, camera panning to follow the pattern and subsequent explosions.
II. Frigates go past, firing 4.5-inch guns.
III. MLS of Rhyl and Puma as they run close abreast, at slow speed in a slight sea, transferring stores.
IV. MS-CU taken from Hermes as she closes on the port quarter of RFA Tideflow, to range abreast for replenishment - HMS Tenby is refuelling simultaneously on Tideflow's starboard side. Oil fuel pipe is brought across to Hermes by jackstay.
