- Summary: Cameraman accompanies a boarding party from HMS Gloucester as it boards the Panamanian-registered tug Lady Katherine and questions her captain.
- Description: MS on flightdeck as Lynx 410 takes off. Cut to pilot at his controls and winchman sitting in cabin doorway of 410 as it runs up on the flightdeck. Watched by flightcrew and the FDO, the marine detachment leaves the hangar and boards the aircraft, the sergeant taking up his position in the cabin doorway, ready to be the first man down. Lashings are removed, and FDO signals for withdrawal of the deck-lock and take off.. LS of the Lynx over the Lady Katherine as marine party ropes down onto the tug. The helicopter returns to pick up RN personnel and they too rope down onto the tug. Lynx recovers its line and returns. Cut to camera onboard the Lady Katherine's - on the bridge a RN Lieutenant studies the ship's log and questions the captain. CU of RN radio operator - in the background, Gloucester is visible through the bridge windows. The RM sergeant stands in the bridge doorway, his rifle at the ready. Exterior view of the scene, Gloucester now reflected in the bridge windows. Interior again as the Lieutenant jots down fixes from the tug's log - the captain is now smiling and the atmosphere seems to have relaxed. Radio operator reports back that papers are in order and passports are being returned to the ship's company. The Lieutenant confirms that there is no cargo and that the food supplies will be checked to see that there is not an "over amount". MSs of marines moving about on deck and a seated group of the tug's crew who smile and wave to camera. A marine on the quarterdeck takes photographs of two others posed 'with guns' on the upper decks - one of the two is carrying the detachment's light squad weapon. LS to Gloucester, a marine standing in the foreground. Back in the bridge the business of the boarding party is over - the Lieutenant chats with the tug's captain, and both take a look at the navigational radar display. Preparing to leave, the Lieutenant offers some navigational assistance - a better fix - and suggests a course alteration; he wishes the captain good luck on his voyage and thanks him for his co-operation.
