Description: Trainee RN electrical engineers (artificers) undergo an intensive 26-week training course at HMS Collingwood. There are three distinct types of trainee: Radio and Radar, Ordnance (weapons systems etc) and Control (gyro compasses etc). Training scenes depicted include building an oscilloscope, checking radar, radio, motors in naval guns. Theoretical examinations (Ordinary National Certificate can be reached after 2 years). Checking Seacat and Seaslug missiles.
