Description: Same format as ADM 1166. The commentator points to differences in appearance and gives an approximate surface speed for Italian and German U-boats. The film illustrates how an armed trawler's prompt response to an unexpected U-boat sighting spoils the enemy's initial attack. The submarine is then kept from returning to the convoy by the trawler's pre-emptive manoeuvres, and is finally driven off by gun fire and depth charge attack. The film concludes that the trawler did not open fire early enough, but otherwise did well.
